Over the years, these are the complaints we have heard from our CLE attendees. “I cannot see the speaker because the column is in the way or these seats are so uncomfortable, can’t you get new ones.”
Well, no more column or seat issues for the Rubin Center for Education at the Telesca Center for Justice. Thanks to a grant from Senator Joe Robach to the Partnership for Equal Justice Campaign, we have been the beneficiaries of a grant that is updating the very old technology in the CLE Room and the Nixon Board Room, both rooms are used for training and education of lawyers, clients and the community.
The new technology includes 3 large screens across the front of the CLE room that will make viewing presentations even better. In addition, the audio has been improved with ceiling mounted microphones that will pick up the presenters, as well as questions from the audience. New speakers have been installed throughout the room to make certain all attendees can hear better.
In addition, we have added a hearing loop for our deaf and hard of hearing attendees. Plus, new video equipment will allow improved taping of all our programs, so for those that view online or come to preview a program here at the MCBA, the quality of your viewing experience will be even greater. In addition, we now have the ability to do video conferencing in the Telesca Center for Justice, which will be utilized by the partners in the building as well.
This is a partial overview of the new technology. To see it all in action, you will just have to register for a CLE, and come to the Rubin Center for Education to view this extraordinary new technology, and how it will enhance your own CLE experience, and how it will assist the partners in teaching their colleagues and clients throughout the region and the state.
The final improvement to the Rubin Center will be the addition of new tables and chairs. We have been listening to you and know they are not comfortable. But the real reason for the replacement is that the new furniture will be able to easily be folded up, and rolled away to improve access and utilization of the CLE Room for other law related community functions, like the Art of Lawyering, VLSP’s special event.
Special thanks to Louise Spinelli, who has been collecting the quotes, and researching the vendors, and now managing the installations. Not a small task!
So, no more complaints on the columns and the furniture please!
Thank you Joe Robach!!
Thanks for checking in…
